                                                      A Brief History of Communication
 


Тема: Преса в Україні.

Мета: 1) поглибити знання учнів з теми; 2) збгатити словниковий запас; 3) удосконалювати навички читання, говоріння; 4) розвивати вміння співпрацювати в групах; 5) розвивати критичне милення; 6) виховувати інтерес до читання.

Обладнання: малюнки, тексти, великі аркуші паперу, клей.

Хід уроку

І. Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення.

1. Привітання. (Greeting)

T: Good morning, boys and girls! I’m glad to see you. I think you are all fine and I hope you will be very active and energetic during our lesson.

2. Уведення в іншомовну атмосферу (Warning up)

Brain Storming.

T: Let’s remember: What does Mass Media include?

3. Повідомлення теми, мети уроку

(Introduction of the topic and the aims of the lesson)

Запис на дошці «All I know is What I see in the papers»

T: And now look at the blackboard, read the statement, and answer the questions:

·        How do you understand these words? (P1 – translate)

·        What do you think about it? (P2)

·        What is the topic of our lesson? (P1, P2, P3)

T: Yes, you are right. In our previous lesson, we have already spoken about TV. But today we’ll speak about the press.

4. Бесіда («microphone»)

T: Do you agree with this statement?

P1: I’d rather disagree with this statement because scientific books and magazines have more information than newspapers, but we’ll have to say, that newspapers help us in many ways.

T: What does it mean? Comment, please.

P2: Newspapers and magazines play a very important role in our life.

P3: Practically there is no family that does not read them.

P4: We can learn many things from newspapers.

P5: There are many different kinds of newspapers in our country.

P6: One can buy them practically everywhere. It is impossible to read all the newspapers and magazines. Everyone has favorite ones.

T: What are your favorite newspapers? (P1, P2…)

T: Thanks. During our lesson you will:

-         revive and enrich your vocabulary on the topic;

-         works in groups;

-         do some tasks.

 

II. Основна частина уроку.

1. Подання тексту для читання (Reading)

“Press in Ukraine”

а) Pre-Reading Activity. Етап підготовки до читання.

Опрацювання лексики.

T: Look at the words after the text. Listen and repeat them. (Drill the new words a few times. Read the new words again. Pupils listen and repeat them. If necessary, translate them into their native languages.)

б) Reading. Етап читання.

Учні ланцюжком читають по 2-3 речення.

в) Post-Reading Activity. Етап перевірки розуміння змісту тексту.

T: Answer the questions after the text.

2. Робота в групах. Doing a project. Work in groups.

- Формуємо групи.

T: Let’s unit into four teams of four pupils. Your task is to make an article, then discuss it in your group and tell us, what is this article about. You’ll get a big sheet of paper, parts of the article, pictures, and headlines. You have to put paragraphs of the article in the correct order. For this, you have to find the beginning, the main part, and the ending of the text. On the top of the project is going to be the headline of the article. Then you will place the picture in the project. Every group must present the project and pay attention to the most important point in the article.

You’ve got ___ minutes.

T: Well done. Your job is nice, colorful and interesting. You are very friendly pupils.

 

III. Заключна частина уроку.

1. Підведення підсумків уроку. Summarizing.

T: Our lesson is coming to the end. We have discussed some aspects of the theme.

2. Reflection.

1) Did you enjoy our lesson?

2) Have you changed your mind about the place of the newspapers in your life?

3) Do you think the newspapers influence your life?

T: I’d like to thanks everyone for the active participation. You worked hard. So, use all the advantages that Mass Media offers us but don’t forget about real life.
